Keep up with the entire series here.
Day 10 – Assignment: DECIDE on the office supply pile.
We are focusing on the top of the dresser supplies like tape, pens, markers, paper clips, batteries, etc.
I love organizing things like this because there are such natural categories – pens, pencils, markers, colored pencils. I sorted all the office supplies and Chelle decided which ones she wanted to keep in the office and which ones she wanted to put in the kid’s area. I used the bins she already had and arranged them in the top drawer of the dresser where she wanted supplies to go. Done!
We still need to do the other office supplies like labels, envelopes, binders, etc.
The great thing about this process is that each time you do a pile (office supplies, paper, cards, books, etc) you can make a decision where the permanent home will be. For the office supplies like pens and the hole punch Chelle knew she wanted them in the top drawer. For the office supplies like binders and sheet protectors we have no idea where they will go until we get to that pile and evaluate how much she has and where they fit and how often they are used, etc. ONE thing at a time!
The finished result of the organized office supplies drawer.
