Day 13 – Assignment: Clean. We have finished clearing out the photos, filing and getting the office supply drawer organized. We also assigned another dresser drawer for cameras, camera equipment and manuals.
We still have other piles we haven’t finished going through and deciding what we’ll keep and where they will live but I was dying to clean the dusty desk and vacuum so we could move the furniture around. Today we dusted.
We almost had our first cat fight because I wasn’t dusting the right way. Did you know you should spray your Rustic Touch (or Pledge or essential oil) into the rag and then dust instead of spraying directly onto the furniture?
First we moved those signs to the top of the closet so they wouldn’t get banged up. We don’t need the 3-drawer tower so we moved it out of the office. Then, we vacuumed:
I am so glad I can instruct Tracy on the fine art of dusting furniture. As you can see by the before picture of my desk, I am somewhat of an authority on the subject. Isn’t it funny the way you have certain ways of doing things that you think everyone does the same way? I was trying to let this one slide but I do a lot of work with photos on my desk (well, when it’s cleared enough to work on) and I am careful about getting the oils from the dusting spray on them. Apparently I am not opposed to dust on them.
Tracy was so great working around my office and dusting the surfaces for me. She was gracious in accepting my instruction. She restrained herself from going for the hair pull and we escaped an ugly incident. Whew.
Loving the space now. Even when I don’t really need to go to my office, I can’t resist the urge to open the door and admire.
