January. 31 days. Chelle’s home office organized. Is it possible? Join us on this 31 day organizing journey!! You can do anything for 31 days right?
Keep up with the entire series here.
Day 15 – Assignment: Decide. Pick another pile to go through and decide what you will keep and where it will live. We picked another electronics pile.
We sorted into categories – cords, flash drives/computer storage, and other.
There were a few items that Chelle got rid of but compared to a lot of people she had very few electronic cords and miscellaneous items.
There was not a home for the iPod. We also found some ear buds. We used one of her baskets for both of them. Think in zones. All electronics go in a certain area, or zone. For Chelle it is in the baskets on her built in shelves.
I lose it when I am looking for an electrical cord and I have no idea which one is the correct one I need. As you can see from the picture above, I try to identity them in some way. Here I just grabbed some masking tape, folded it over the wire and labeled with a permanent marker.
I’m sure my children appreciate me saving them from my ranting through the house. I also put a “C” for Chelle or “N” for my son, Nathan etc. on various phone chargers. This keeps the blame game to a minimum when they are missing or borrowed and not returned to the rightful owner.
