Day 30 – Assignment: Don’t Forget To Finish
The end of any project is the hardest. How many times have you really committed to completing a project so you are gung ho and work hard, concentrate, focus, work, work…then life happens, problems arise, a new project comes along, the curtains are too short and you need to return them but it never gets done and they sit too long and then you can’t return them. Things pile up because the project isn’t finished and then pretty soon it looks like you didn’t even have a project. Family comes in town so you shove some things in corners and find them months later.
I must admit that my master bath has had the same wallpaper since the house was built. We all hate it but the bathroom is the last place we want to spend any time or money. But, when I was going through my closet and painted my closet and the little hall leading to my bath I got on a motivated whim and started peeling wallpaper. We have an older home and back then I guess they put the wallpaper right on the sheet rock. It started peeling off good but then it became harder and harder. Guess what. Three months later it is still half ripped off. I’m waiting until the right time to get back on that project. And that hasn’t come…yet!!
Chelle has two days to complete this office project. Not to put any pressure on her or anything. Life is happening because her son has had a basketball for the last two days and another one tomorrow. Then her daughter is bringing 25 college kids home to EAT and SLEEP at her house for the weekend. They arrive at noon tomorrow. She has been a crazy women grocery shopping for 3 days, cleaning, buying new towels, cooking, cleaning some more and trying to do get her office stuff done in the middle of all that.
Is that a good enough excuse to push the finish date back? I say no. Work night and day. No sleep. We are COMPLETING this project!!! 🙂 Just kidding. But these obstacles do come up. I am sure you can relate.
I know Chelle is so determined to finish that she is going to do as much as possible. She is working on cutting foam board which is a tedious, time consuming task. Also, shopping for just the right little throw, two basket for her CDs, and any additional super cute final touches is time consuming. Chelle (all of us!) can easily become distracted when out shopping.
I would be helping more but this last decorating part is more her thing than mine. I am cheering her on…
GO CHELLE!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!
We will have one more post tomorrow and then FINAL REVEAL pictures on Saturday. It might be midnight if it takes that long. If only you could go out and shop at 4:00 AM!
