Day 8 – Assignment: Wah, wah, wah. Still the same…Set your timer for 20 minutes and continue to sort.
Today we walked into the office and it really is looking good. The corners are cleared out. The piles are contained. It was a teeny bit exciting.
Do enjoy your progress but don’t stand admiring your work too long. Get focused and continue where you left off. When you wonder how to get going remember one thing at a time. Just grab something and ask, “What is this?” Put it in the correct pile. Grab another thing.
I am trying to gradually get back into working out so I am doing Jillian Michael’s workouts. I feel dead in the morning and do NOT feel like working out. After having a 20 minute argument with myself I roll out of bed, dress in workout clothes and put a dab of cold water on my eyes. I go down to the basement where I have our little portable DVD player set up.
The thing I love is that Jillian tells me exactly what to do. I just have to stand there and do it. That’s what we do! We tell you exactly what to do. Just get doing it even when you don’t feel like it. You can do it. Maybe you’ll burn a few calories while you’re at it!
Today we sorted through the dresser. We have been working our way around the perimeter of the room. The last thing was the dresser and the top of the desk. This part was great because I just grabbed things out of the drawers and off of the desk and put them in a pile. Chelle sat on the floor and went through the contents.
Where are you in the sorting process? If you still have a lot to go keep at it.
First of all I would like to object to Tracy’s use of the picture above where I am sitting on the floor with the top of my head facing the camera. It looks like a topographical map of the Nile River. I guess one of the perks of being 6 feet tall is no one tells you your part is really crooked. Maybe I was doing my hair in the dark this morning.
Anyway, Tracy left the elsewhere pile I needed to put away. She got really bossy and then she had to leave. So…unbeknownst to her I left all that stuff there for the next few hours in an act of defiance. I’m sure it was killing her. Well, if she had known about it. The wrapping paper and scissors were still there two hours later. Ha!
After my passive aggressive episode and regaining my maturity, I did put items away. I am getting very excited to see the progress that we’ve made. I do appreciate Tracy holding me accountable to the twenty minute work sessions. She has kept me moving. I am looking forward to the more exciting parts like placing furniture and buying a few cute containers. Empty, Name Piles, Decide, then Contain.
We appreciate hearing from some of you who are working on your own spaces right along with us! We hope you are making progress. Let us know!
