On our podcast this week we asked Betsy Miller, owner of 2B Organized, “Besides being busy what keeps people disorganized?” (She responded with some passion about that word busy. Listen to the show for more on that.) In her professional opinion (and she has been organizing since 1997!!!) here were her top three reasons:
- LACK OF DELEGATION – Moms, can you relate? Your kids can maintain their closets and their toys…it just requires us to delegate (and follow through).
- INDECISION – It’s true! Organizing and maintaining it requires a lot of decisions. Clutter is delayed decisions which is really a lack of decisions which is really caused by indecision. Start making DECISIONS. You can get organized one decision at a time.
- CAN’T SAY NO – You can now resign as manager of the world and instead become manager of your home. Here is a great post from Money Saving Mom’s Say Goodbye to Survival Mode Challenge: Day 1 called Just Say No. Cross something off today!
What keeps you from getting organized? Please share in the comments.
