Summer Project #8 for me is my free, super fast and easy, 10 minute vase makeover. I have had the following large floor vase for about 10 years!
I bought it at Pier 1 Imports on sale for a steal. It wasn’t something I absolutely loved but it was a big piece I knew I could use. It has been in several rooms in my house over the years.
Currently, I am working on a new photo wall in my entry. (Watch for that project coming soon!) I thought the vase would look good on the floor in front; however, I didn’t like the color of it for this setting.
So I grabbed some spray paint from my garage. I knew just where to find it because summer project #2 for me was, Organizing A Cluttered Garage Entry. Here is a snap shot of me in the video for that project. Please note the crazed look of psychosis, I mean determination, as I began to attack annoying projects around my home at the beginning of the summer.
Settle down, Chelle.
What was I talking about? Oh yeah, my vase project and spray paint. I grabbed some of my favorite leftover spray paint for the vase.
In order above is Espresso Brown, Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze and Metallic Aged Copper.
I moved the vase to the garage with the help of my son and his friends who happened to be in the right place at the right time…in the kitchen making pancakes for breakfast. My son, Nathan is in the middle and Tracy’s son, Shale on the right below proving that jocks can cook.
The boys moved the vase to the garage where I had laid out newspaper. I got started spraying the vase. I alternated between the three paint colors to get the look I wanted.
So quick and easy.
I left it to dry while I went inside to eat the pancakes the boys had made for me.
Here is the finished vase next to my photo wall.
I added a couple branches from you know, Pier 1 and it was done. I purposefully am not showing you the entire photo wall mostly because it’s not finished 🙂 AND because you will see it all in a future summer project post. Be prepared for more of my mental instability revealed with that project.
I love my new vase. It didn’t cost me a dime and it was really simple and fast. What piece do you already have that you could re-purpose?
