Does your soul need some refreshing?
Does your life need some realigning?
Her stories are so relate-able and the best part is how she turns her real-life experiences into God-moments to either convict us, enlighten us or encourage our souls. Sometimes all three.
Today we chose 10 to share with you!
10. Success isn’t guaranteed. But God’s presence is.
Success isn’t guaranteed. But God’s presence is. God’s love is. God’s faithfulness is. God’s grace is. God’s forgiveness is. And I’m pretty sure at the end of the day, these are the things we can be strong and courageous about.
9. Spill Out the love of Jesus on the unique people God places in your life.
But time after time, we don’t see Jesus trying to “doctor up” people. We see Him loving them. Meeting them where they are. Having compassion on them. Engaging them in conversation. And telling them about life through Him.

8. Cause Me to Hear
In the morning, before my reality takes root,
Cause me to hear from You, Lord.
Open my ears to Your truth.
Let me know that Your promises can overpower my predicaments.
Cause me to know Your way.
I trust You.
I give myself to You.
Cause me to hear You, Lord.

7. Could it be that I was grasping and clinging to what I wanted?
Let me ask you a question. What do you find yourself clinging to? I know what your first reaction might be. You don’t cling to anything, right? But think again. How about your hopes? Your agenda? Your desire for control? Your plans? Your strength? Your intellect? Your money? Your secure job? Your creativity? Your gifts? Your passions? Your skill set? Your terms?

6. “I can’t.” Or, “God can!”
At some point, however, we must let go of the “I can’t.” We’ve got to get over ourselves, move past our weaknesses, get our focus off of the obstacle of self, and onto something (or more specifically someONE) greater.

5. Praying for you this morning…
The next time you offer to pray for someone, say it, mean it, and do it. Commit to it like the four guys committed to their paralyzed friend. Imagine carrying your friend, whomever you’re praying for—with all their problems and issues loaded up on a mat—straight to the feet of Jesus.
We can’t be the solution to their problems, but we can carry them to the One who can.

4. The Power of Together
After a little research I discovered that the Banyan tree is the national tree of India. Its linked roots and branches are used to symbolize the country’s unity.
“It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, But if there’s no one to help, tough! By yourself you’re unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn’t easily snapped” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, 12, MSG).
God’s design is the idea of together—doing life together, sharing with each other, building each other up, encouraging each other, working together, supporting each other, praying together, meeting together, etc.–just like the Banyan trees.

3. Be obedient to what God is calling you to do.
I wonder if the real issue might not be what we’re running away from, but what we’re running to. If I’m dodging the pain or struggle or discomfort of one thing, the odds are that I’m engaging in something else. These things could either be constructive or destructive. But either way, in our avoidance mode, the thing that needs to be addressed still isn’t getting the proper focus or attention. We continue to dodge while relationships suffer, projects pile up, bills go unpaid, conflict remains unresolved, emotions continue to roller coaster, cracks become chasms, and any hope of progress or change becomes nonexistent.

2. Let’s shake up the world and reflect the light of Christ in us!
Dale Carnegie, in his book How to Win Friends and Influence People, points out that everyone’s favorite subject is themselves. We wouldn’t admit to it, but there just might be some truth in his statement.
Let me contrast that idea with what Jennie Allen wrote in her book Restless. She said, “But left to ourselves, we love being great more than we love making God great.” When I read that it was like a dagger to my heart. Could this be true of me? Could it be true of you?

1. Running away from your life…or running to God.
Running away from your life…or running to God. It’s a messy question. It’s not an easy answer. Just know that God’s unfailing love keeps running right alongside your every move.
