This is how I found my new jacket…
I have been wanting a jacket for quite a while. But, I am very practical (and thrifty?) so I am always looking for a clothing items that fit all occasions. This makes it almost impossible to find the perfect item!
I was looking for a winter jacket that was
- Somewhat casual to play out in the snow but cute enough to wear out on a date on a cold night (is this possible!?)
- Longer in length to keep me toasty warm in the Kansas City winters. I am always COLD.
- A hood to keep my neck warm if it is windy
- I love bright colors but they don’t fit my “universal” requirement for one jacket to fit all occassions. I am sick of black, don’t really want brown…hmmm.
I secretly admired this gray jacket that Chelle wears. I love the color, the length, the hood, the down filling, the fits-all-occasion versatility of it, the gray color, etc. So the other day when we were working on transforming her closet into a mud closet (watch Mud Closet Makeover Video Part 1) I noticed she had TWO of the gray coats. They looked exactly the same but one of them had a sign taped to it.
Chelle explained that she bought the coat, needed another size, ordered a new one and forgot to return the other one (really?). Have YOU ever done that? It was too late to return it so she tried to sell it at her garage sale (a year ago??). She actually started questioning if the jacket was really that cute since no one seemed interested at the garage sale. Then, she thought she should try selling it on eBay or Craig’s List or at the consignment shop but it is still sitting in her closet with the sign attached.
Note: Dana White in WARNING! Garage Sales May Be Habit-forming shared with us that the garage sale should be the last resort. If we only knew then what we know now!
I tried it on and it fit pretty good. It was a Long Size so I loved how long the sleeves were!
Now will people think we are going a little too far. Identical jackets?!
Have you ever helped a friend and got a …? Please share!
