Do you know someone who seems to accomplish more in one day than you do in a week? Do you want to slap her? Or…maybe you could learn a few things from the routines and habits she has implemented in her life. We talk to a busy mom who wasn’t born with the organizing gene but has learned that a little a day goes a long way. Super practical and simple tips and routines you could adopt today to help you Spring Into Action toward a more peaceful household.

Here is Shauna’s “signature side piggy.” Every woman needs a go-to hairstyle, right? (Notice her newly refinished cabinets in the background!!!)
“We are a team and working together is part of being a family. See what needs to be done. If someone is drowning in a swimming pool do you stand and ask, “Hey, is there anything I can do to help?” No, you jump in and help.”
Last year’s kitchen organizing project…still looking good. (These are some of my favorite baskets. Find them here.)
Shauna’s workout quick tips:
- Fit a 15-20 minute workout whenever possible (while waiting in a carpool, at child’s sports practice, during your lunch or break, etc). Sprint up a big hill, HARD, to the point you think you are going to die and keep going 5 more seconds. Do 20 burpies. Briskly walk down the hill. Do 20 pushups, REPEAT 20 times or for 20 minutes. (Consult your doctor first.)
- Ask a health care professional about EPOC and the positive affects it can have on you. Read a scientific explanation here.
- Hire a personal trainer – even if it is just one time. Have them give you a routine, show you how to use the weights and weight machines or just enjoy a little bootie-kicking now and then!
- Lift weights…HEAVY weights.
