Are you looking for a fun summer activity where women can connect with each other? Outside of the church walls? We were but where do you find a location that is big enough with a homey feel that doesn’t cost anything!?
The whole idea was to have a party under one roof. We would need to be sure that the women knew it would be crowded thus “Summer Squeeze” was born.
Angie, the church’s graphic designer came up with this cuuuute logo.
In keeping with the Summer Squeeze idea, we decided to serve blended fruit drinks. Everyone loves a blended coffee so we threw one of those in too. We set up blender stations around the house. We used small glasses so women could have fun tasting all of them and finding their favorites. It was loud with lots of women and blenders going but that’s what makes for a fun event!
Here is our friend Amy making the Orange Julius’. (She slacked off some while working, you know, socializing with guests so we had to keep a close eye on her.)
Here are Bethany and Maddie trying a smoothie. I guess they each could have had one. Thanks for conserving cups. Sisters who share everything. (They really are sisters.)
We featured four blender drinks.
Use simple centerpieces to save table space for food and seating. The white vases were from Target in the clearance section at the end of the aisle. Chelle bought them years ago. The flowers are from Pier 1 Imports.
Chelle’s husband, Jimmy recruited men and our teenage kids to help with valet parking. Maybe we can get him to share how he organized the cars and keys. Also tips on how not to appear like a carjacker to our guests.
What summer party ideas have worked for you?
