Do you have a sock situation? The Duffy household had a sock situation. Matching. Missing. Dirty. Broken Up. Radical changes had to happen. For the sanity of his whole family Dan Duffy decided he would take action. He looked outside the box for his solution. Listen to Chris talk about this on the show – Ninja Of Deceit Comes Clean.
The solution: The Duffy children threw out ALL of their socks. Twice a year they buy exactly the same socks for the three oldest boys and exactly the same socks for the the twins. They store all of their socks IN the laundry room in labeled bins. No matching up. No folding. Just throw the socks in their labeled bins and the socks are done. The boys need a pair of socks? Walk to the bin, grab two socks and since they are all the same kind any two they grab are going to be winners!
Dan liked this so much he bought all the same socks for himself and has his own sock bin.
Would this solution work for every family? No. Organizing is all about finding what works for YOUR family. The Duffys have found what works for their sock situation and now their “normal activity flows well” which is Chris Duffy’s definition of being organized!
