This year my (Tracy) oldest child is starting high school, my second and third are in middle school and my youngest is in elementary. The youngest is the last to get on the bus each morning. We have about 45 minutes after the other three are gone all to ourselves.
As I mentioned in Sunday’s Declutter Your Heart post I am challenged with keeping my priorities in the right order. Sadly, I often neglect spending quiet time with God. On this same note, in regards to parenting, it is equally challenging to teach my kids the importance of this when I am not living it out in my own life.
When school started this year God provided a special solution: My youngest and I are doing our devotion together using Jesus Calling for kids!!
Each morning we make sure we are ready to go at 8:00. We sit on the couch and she reads the devotion for the day from Jesus Calling, 365 Devotions For Kids. After that I look up the verses in my Bible. Then we talk about it and pray together. It is wonderful!
What do you do? How can you fit into your changing (and possibly challenging!) schedule a quiet moment with God each day?
