I (Tracy) was at my daughter’s soccer picnic and one of the moms brought the BEST chocolate chip cookies ever. First of all they were the hugest chocolate chip cookies ever. And, they tasted incredible!
She was so nice and didn’t hoard her secrets of deliciousness (like some do).
TIP: Cream 1 cup butter flavored Crisco (instead of butter) with 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar (instead of 3/4 cup of each, brown and white sugar)!
That’s it! I think it is using more brown sugar that makes the difference. So here is my new recipe:
Cream: 1 C butter flavored Crisco with 1 C brown sugar and 1/2 C white sugar
Add: 2 eggs – Add one egg at a time and beat well (I honestly just throw them in together)
Add: 1 t vanilla (I use vanilla from Mexico that my in-laws bring me but this mom ONLY uses this one brand which I can’t remember so here is Gourmet Food’s Top Ten Vanilla Extract picks)
Gradually beat in mixture of: 2 1/4 C flour, 1 t baking soda, 1 t salt
Stir in: 2 C chocolate morsels (12 oz)
Bake: 375 degrees for 9 – 11 minutes.
