Holiday break is over. 2015 has begun!
Here is our plan for 2015 – to live a more intentional year, one month at a time.
Here’s how we spent our holiday break…
Right before Thanksgiving Chelle woke up unable to move. For two weeks she was in SERIOUS pain and could hardly get out of bed.
She chose to have back surgery after consulting with doctors and thankfully she did. A piece of her ruptured disc was actually sitting on her nerve. The surgery was a success and she went home from the hospital the Tuesday before Christmas.
She had a wonderful Christmas Eve enjoying their family’s traditional fondue and opening presents Christmas morning.
The day after Christmas she went to the ER with severe chest pain. She was admitted. The reason – blood clots in her lung. They also found blood clots in her leg. She was kept in the hospital for 6 days until her Coumiden reached the right level.
Our friend, Jenn, and I visited her on New Year’s Eve to have a little hospital party.
Chelle and Jimmy made the most of a New Year’s Eve in the hospital.
The nurse told us Jimmy was getting a little out of control so she took action to protect Chelle.
Chelle returned home New Year’s day feeling good and on a strict no-computer, no-lifting recovery plan. She is the one that edits, preps and uploads all of our podcasts so until she is well we will not be able to post a show.
Hopefully she’ll be able to post our interview with Tiffany from Don’t Waste the Crumbs later this month. It is all about eating healthy without breaking the bank!
I purchased Tiffany’s menu plan and am loving the food and so is my family!!! I’ve made two dinners, two breakfasts, and several other items so far…all amazing. Check out Frugal Real Food Meal Plans to see if it is right for you.
We had a less traumatic holiday.
The girls and a friend built a snowman on the last day of school. Isn’t this the cutest snowman you’ve ever seen?
We had no company or family in town so we were able to completely relax. I worked with a few organizing clients but took most of the break off.
We attended Christmas Eve service at our church. Sydney (Chelle’s daughter) took a picture for us. Notice I am SHRINKING! My kids are getting so tall.
Do you love the movie Elf as much as we do? (You smell like beef and cheese…You sit on the thrown of lies…There are 4 food groups…Baby, it’s cold outside…) When I saw this puzzle I had to have it. We worked on our puzzle together.
We decorated sugar cookies as a family (that I had baked and frozen in advance).
Later in the week I painted our master bedroom!
My daughter was a big help laying out the drop clothes and covering the furniture. The new color (on the right) is Pavestone from Sherwin Williams. I love it!
We’ve had a shade of that green color (on the left) for 18 years! Thanks, Chelle, for making me update my bedroom.
More on this project coming this year. I have a lot of fun plans, DIY projects to do and new bedding to reveal (I don’t have it all yet) during our pick-a-project month in July – if I can wait that long?
I spent some time reading through my new meal plan, prepping and grocery shopping.
Now we are all back in our routine and I am focusing on eating healthy this month.
